Coats, Soothes and Lubricates Your Pets Digestive Tract
Slippery Elm is widely used by many EPI dog owners. It is a prebiotic mucilage that coats and soothes the digestive tract and is loaded with the SCFA (short-chain fatty acid, "Butyrate") that is known to fight SID (small intestinal dysbiosis). Sometimes adding Slippery Elm with a little water to a meal is sufficient enough to get SID under good control, alleviating the need for a course of antibiotics. Although this is not always guaranteed to work, it is well worth trying.
